Happy New Year!

Nothing seems to change in Minnesota.  Once again we are ringing in the new year with yet another snow storm!!  It is a lovely sight to behold, that is if you don’t have to do chores in it.   The bees are in their winter cluster trying to beat all odds and survive the cold winter.
So far, so good!  They are in Gods strong hands.  Out and about on the rest of the farm the animals are surviving underneath this new blanket of snow.   Most of the livestock are eating more than is usual for them to keep up their heat and energy.
In the house there is freshly baked Ciabatta bread to snack on  with our own honey and butter.
The wood stove is going strong and preparations are being made for a party that will bring in the new year  with a bang!
Being surrounded by the ones you love is a  blessing that can only be described as wonderful.
A Happy New Year to one and all from all of us on the Callens Farm.

About Callens Honey Farm

We live on a small family farm located in S.W. Minnesota, near the South Dakota border. The source of our honey is from white and red clover. The honey appears as liquid gold in color. Our honey is extracted using a hand cranked centrifugal force extractor. Then the honey is screened once into a holding container from which we later fill the small honey bottles. We do not heat treat the honey nor add any other ingredients. Pure and natural is our Minnesota honey! What could taste better?

One Response to Happy New Year!

Happy New Year to all of you as well. In PA we’ve only had two snowfalls that have left us with about 6 inches. Some grass is actually starting to show after some warmer days have melted part of it. One of these years, we plan on enjoying a MN winter with family, so we can experience a real picture postcard Christmas and New Year! Love to everyone! XO AA
